About Mrs. Short

My name is Tina Short, and I teach 7th grade ELA.  I am so excited to be a Central Middle School Lion.

A little information about my educational background is that I grew up in a very rural town of Opp, Alabama.  I received my Bachelor's Degree from Troy University at Troy, Alabama, in 1988. I then received my M.ED in Middle Grades with a concentration in Language Arts at Georgia Southern University.

For my teaching experience, I have taught in Dekalb County Schools, and Gwinnett County Schools.  All subject areas, collaborative classes, and gifted classes have been taught by me through these years of teaching. While at my schools, I have carried the titles of Curriculum Chair, and Grade Level Chair for 6th and 7th grades. I represented my middle school at the Lucy Calkin's Writer's Workshop in New York City.

My family is my world!!   My husband, Chris, and I have been married for over 30 years, and we have three wonderful grown children.  The last thing you need to know about me is that I love teaching and making a difference in my students’ lives, and I am a huge Alabama fan!
